It's the next step for anyone who is ready to start getting connected at CBC and start making CBC their church home. It'll be lead by pastors and elders, and you'll have the opportunity to get to know other people in that same stage. We're so excited to continue getting to know you as you get to know us.
This year's Women's Retreat is March 24-26th. We're so excited for our women to have the opportunity to get away from the hustle and stress of everyday life, take some time to rest, grow and for some soul care. Kid's Camp allows for kiddos entering fourth through sixth grades to get away and enjoy summer camp. It's at Mt. Lebanon in Cedar Hill, Texas. Kid's Camp is a great chance for kiddos to get away from daily life and begin making their faith their own. Every year we see kiddos grow in their faith and see leaders start to emerge as that growth happens. We'll have Chapel and worship twice a day, and the rest of the day is filled with swimming, hiking and all kinds of other activities.
Pine Cove Camp in the City brings summer camp to Crossroads. This is our third year doing Camp in the City, and we absolutely love it. It provides a full week for kiddos to study God's word while having a ton of fun with other kiddos. Pine Cove brings counselors and all kinds of games and activities.
Here at CBC we believe the church is a family. The only way people can get to know each other as a family is through time spent together. We want to create opportunities for you to get to know us as we get know you, and one way we do that is through a Newcomers Lunch. We try to have one of these once or twice a year, so if you started visiting or attending CBC and haven't been to one of these yet, we'd love to have you. There will be childcare available, but your kiddos are more than welcome to attend the lunch as well.
At CBC, we value building in to and equipping our leaders. We see this happen all the time through small conversations and ministry specific trainings all year, but once a year we like to gather all of our leaders together in one space. On January 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. we'll gather together to focus on becoming better leaders. We're bringing in a guest speaker, Dr. Stephen Macchia, who will speak about finding rest in God and how that helps us discover His purposes for us.
The older I have gotten the more I have realized how hard it is to balance life, school, friends, family, and serving in a local church, especially for high school students. If we are all honest we could use a little more free time. I'm talking serious free time here, no tests, deadlines, or work...nothing. Imagine a weekend, two full days, where all you have to do is nothing. No meetings, no gatherings, no deadlines...it's just you, your closest friends, and time to not worry about what's next. We call it Pine Cove No Agenda weekend.
On December 3rd we're having our annual Women's Christmas Brunch. The Brunch is a long-standing CBC tradition, and this year we're bringing in Margaret Feinberg to be the guest speaker.
Over the past four years we've dedicated a Sunday to going out and reaching the surrounding community for Christ. Then, after the services, we'll all gather back at CBC to celebrate together with ONE service at 10:45 a.m.
