Our History

Crossroads Bible Church was formed through the merger of two churches in the Lewisville area — Lake Cities Bible Church and Fellowship Bible Church of Lewisville.

Lake Cities Bible Church was formed in 1979 when five families, feeling the need for an independent, evangelical body of believers in western Lewisville, met at Highland Village City Hall to charter a church. After meeting in homes from January 1979 to April 1980, the church moved to Highland Village City Hall, and later moved to the High Meadows Academy.

Fellowship Bible Church of Lewisville began in November of 1981 when some home group members from the original Fellowship Bible Church in Dallas longed to assemble closer to home, and began meeting in a Lewisville daycare center. In January of 1983, they leased a facility on Main Street. As growth continued, FBC moved to Timbercreek Elementary School in Flower Mound in December 1985.

THE TWO CHURCHES MERGED ON JUNE 15, 1986, AND ADOPTED THE NAME CROSSROADS BIBLE CHURCH ON JULY 20, 1986.

The two churches merged on June 15, 1986, and adopted the name Crossroads Bible Church on July 20, 1986. The fellowship called Woody Woodward as its first pastor. CBC moved into a brand new facility at 9099 East FM 407 in Bartonville and celebrated its first services there on Christmas Eve, 1988. In 1992, CBC hired Tim Stevenson, one of its elders, to be senior pastor.

After years of growth and an increasing need for more space, land was purchased down the highway in Double Oak, and a new building was erected. The first services were held at the Double Oak campus on May 5, 2002. Our current senior pastor, Steve Hixon, came to Crossroads in 2007. CBC now has two Sunday services, 9:00am & 10:45am, and groups and activities throughout the week designed to equip people to follow Jesus and make disciples.
