Keys to using the diagram:

1. The horizontal axis represents how strong your inclination is to serve through verbal communication vs. active service. (Verbal = teaching, counseling, encouraging; Active = serving, organizing, giving, helping)

2. The vertical axis represents your inclination to serve internally = within the body, or externally = representing Christ in the world.

3. The higher the number, the more dominant your inclination. A lower number means less dominance, or a mixture of both.


  1. Necessary Attitudes for a Break-Through.

    • Accept and appreciate that differences in personality and giftedness are both necessary and good.

    • Accept that everyone will not want to do the same type of service; but all types are needed and valuable.

    • Together, we can demonstrate the undeniable reality of Jesus Christ!
